Our summer youth programs serve girls and boys. Children gain self-esteem and
confidence by challenging themselves from a wide variety of classes and activities.
FIRST TIMERS
“My child was safe and had fun.” Entering 2nd grade
This two-night program introduces first-time campers to the breathtaking world
of
resident camp! Campers explore activities including swimming, boating, arts and
crafts, games, nature hikes, campfires, s’mores, horseback rides and more.
First Timers
live in the modern lodge rooms with 10 campers and two staff members. Showers
and
bathroom facilities are located in each lodge room.
OTTAWA VILLAGE
“Confi dence that lasts a lifetime” Entering 3rd - 4th grade
Sample as many of our skill-building tracks as time permits. Explore your abilities,
develop a “can do” attitude, and discover life-long interests. “First
success away from
home”… fostered by caring and attentive role models.
PIONEER VILLAGE
“Skills I can use forever” Entering 5th - 6th grade
Pioneers are developmentally ready to tackle a skill to confirm that they can
do well at
whatever they try. As part of their experience, each camper will select a specific
skillset
track. EXPLORER VILLAGE
“Opportunity for leadership” Entering 7th - 8th grade
Storer thoroughly challenges Explorers to get serious and work hard in their
chosen
track... it’s time to excel in activities that are constructive and provide
opportunities for
personal growth. Storer promotes the development of leadership skills, self-confidence,
and responsible decision making.

For over 88 years, YMCA Storer Camps have been providing the adventure of a lifetime for campers and families from all over the country and all over the world.
Located on 1,200 acres in the beautiful Irish Hills of Southeast Michigan, Storer Camps has something for everyone. Each year, Storer serves more than 25,000 youth, teens and adults through its summer resident; outdoor environmental education; and group, retreats and conference camping programs.
